David White
09.28.2014

With shock and deepest sorrow the family of the late David White announce his sudden and tragic passing on Sunday, September 28 at the age of 62. Dave lived life to the fullest, devoting himself entirely to his every undertaking. His achievements are considerable. Above all, he cherished and took greatest pride in his family, friends, horses, dogs, sundry pets and beautiful property. Full of boundless energy, he valued and enjoyed physical labour, and the outdoors, and will be so fondly remembered for his many monumental projects, most recently his masterful rock wall. Thirty years a teacher, Dave made a lasting and positive impression in the lives of his students, many of whom remained in contact with him. Dave loved his community, and was often seen driving his horses, carriages and sleighs through the town. He was accepting, kind and giving, except perhaps when it came to Gloria’s homemade ‘dainties’. He has left a deep void in the lives of his loving wife, Gloria; his daughters: Cassie (Angus Chisholm), Sheila (Paul Hedges), and Kathleen; and his sons: Peter (Soraya Carrim), Jason (Kim Tapper), and his grandchildren: Flora, Ruby, Margaret, Jordan, and Hannah, upon whom he doted. Also mourning are his sisters and sister-in-law: Angela (Robert Slaney), Mary (Greg Malone), Frances (Harold Priddle), Marian (Beni Malone), Cauleen, Connie (Harry Brazil), Michelle, Ann Doran Gibson; and his brothers: Bernard, Leo (Maureen Murphy), and Tony (Shirley Stephenson). Dave is predeceased by his parents, Terrence and Florence (Hall) and his brother, Alphonsus; and his father-in-law, Arnold Pike. Mourning as well is the Pike family, including Dave’s mother-in-law, Mary “Herself”, Gloria’s sister and brothers and their spouses, and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members. Dave’s many friends will also miss him dearly especially Charlie and Joan, and Jerome and Sheila and their families. Well done, good and faithful servant!
